Telangana
Telangana is a young and progressive state in southern India, officially formed on 2 June 2014 as the 29th state of India. The state is known for its rich culture, advanced technology, and rapid development across various sectors.
📍 Geography & Location
Telangana is a landlocked state located in the Deccan Plateau region. It shares borders with Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. The state has a mix of plains, hills, and river valleys formed by the Godavari and Krishna rivers.
🏙️ Capital City
Hyderabad is the capital city of Telangana and one of India’s most important IT and business hubs. It is famous for the Charminar, Golconda Fort, Hussain Sagar Lake, and world-famous Hyderabadi Biryani.
👥 Population & Language
Telangana has a population of around 35 million people (as of 2025). The official language is Telugu, and Urdu is also widely spoken, especially in Hyderabad. The people of Telangana are known for their unique dialect, culture, and warm hospitality.
💰 Economy
Telangana has one of the fastest-growing economies in India. The major sectors include Information Technology, Agriculture, Pharmaceuticals, Manufacturing, and Tourism. Hyderabad, often called Cyberabad, is home to global companies like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon.

Agriculture plays an important role in the Telangana economy. Major crops include rice, maize, cotton, and pulses. The state government has launched several schemes to support farmers, including Rythu Bandhu (financial support) and Mission Kakatiya (tank restoration).
🎭 Culture & Festivals
Telangana has a vibrant cultural heritage. Traditional art forms like Perini Sivatandavam and Bonalu reflect the spirit of the region. Major festivals include Bathukamma, Bonalu, Dasara, Deepavali, Sankranti, and Ramzan.
